What TSH Actually Is

This considerably more sensitive "sandwich" approach can reliably distinguish suppressed TSH levels seen in hyperthyroidism from the merely low-normal levels that carry no genuine clinical significance, a distinction older assays from earlier decades simply couldn't reliably make.
