Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device — computer, phone, or tablet — when you visit a website. They are not programs and cannot execute code or deliver viruses. They exist to help websites remember information about your visit: whether you are logged in, what language you prefer, or how you navigated through the site.

Cookies are set either by the website you are visiting directly (first-party cookies) or by third-party services that the website uses, such as analytics tools or payment processors (third-party cookies). Each cookie has a lifespan — some expire when you close your browser (session cookies), others persist on your device for a defined period (persistent cookies).

Modern browsers give you full control over cookies. You can view them, delete them, and block them at any time. Section 7 of this policy explains exactly how to do that across every major browser.

2. How LabsFive Uses Cookies

LabsFive uses cookies purposefully and discloses every one of them here. We do not build individual behavioral profiles of our users for our own use, and we do not sell, rent, or share cookie data with data brokers or unrelated third parties.

We do use Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our advertising performs — for example, knowing that someone who clicked a Google or Facebook/Instagram ad went on to complete a purchase. This lets Google and Meta's systems, and us, understand which ads are working, and it allows those platforms to show LabsFive ads to people who previously visited the site or completed a purchase. This is standard advertising measurement, and it is described in full in Section 6.

Every cookie on LabsFive.com serves one of three functions: keeping the site working correctly, helping us understand aggregate usage patterns, or measuring advertising performance. Nothing more.

We are transparent about every cookie we use. The complete list is in Section 4 of this policy — including the cookie name, what it does, how long it lasts, and whether you can opt out. If a cookie is not on that list, it is not on our site.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

LabsFive uses two categories of cookies:

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the website to function. Without them, core features — secure file upload, payment processing flow, page navigation — cannot operate. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through our site because disabling them would break the Service. You may disable them through your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from completing a purchase or uploading your lab document.

Strictly necessary cookies never contain personal health information. They contain only technical identifiers — anonymous session tokens and security flags.

3.2 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website in aggregate — which pages are most visited, how long people spend on each section, and where users drop off in the purchase flow. This information is anonymized and aggregated: we see patterns, not individuals.

We use Google Analytics for this purpose. Analytics cookies are optional. You can opt out at any time using the methods described in Section 7.

3.3 Advertising / Marketing Cookies

These cookies are set by Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. They let us measure which ad clicks lead to a completed purchase, and they allow Google and Meta to show LabsFive ads to people who previously visited the site or bought a report ("remarketing"). See Section 6 for details on each provider and Section 7 for how to opt out.

We do not allow any advertising cookie from a data broker or any platform other than Google Ads and Meta. See Section 5 for what we still do not do with these or any other cookies.

5. Cookies We Never Use

We include this section because we believe you deserve to know not only what we do with cookies, but what we have explicitly decided not to do — even though we do use Google Ads and Meta Pixel cookies for advertising measurement, described fully in Sections 3.3 and 6.

LabsFive does not and will not use:

Data broker or affiliate tracking cookies: We do not run ad networks beyond Google Ads and Meta, sell visit data to data brokers, or use affiliate tracking.
TikTok, LinkedIn, or other social pixels: The only social/ad platform pixel on our site is the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, described in Section 6. We do not embed TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other equivalent tracking pixel.
Our own behavioral profiling: Beyond the standard ad-measurement events sent to Google and Meta, LabsFive does not itself build individual behavioral profiles of users based on navigation patterns, clicks, or time spent.
Health data cookies: We do not store any health-related information in cookies, and no health data is ever sent to Google or Meta. Your lab data is handled exclusively through our secure upload and processing pipeline — never through browser storage or ad-measurement events.
Third-party commercial cookies beyond Google and Meta: We do not allow any other third-party advertiser, data broker, or commercial partner to place cookies on our site.

This is a commitment, not a legal formality. If this policy ever changes, we will notify you in accordance with Section 9 before any new cookie type is implemented.

6. Third-Party Cookies

The following third-party services place cookies on LabsFive.com when you interact with them:

Stripe, Inc.

Stripe sets strictly necessary cookies during the payment checkout flow to detect fraud and maintain session security. These cookies are essential for processing your payment. Stripe's cookie and privacy practices are governed by their Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy. LabsFive has no control over Stripe's cookies beyond restricting them to the payment flow only.

Google Analytics & Google Ads

Google Analytics (GA4) sets analytics cookies to help us understand aggregate usage patterns. Our GA4 property is linked to Google Ads, and purchase events are imported as a Google Ads conversion so we can measure ad performance — this uses the _gcl_au cookie described in Section 4 in addition to the standard analytics cookies. Google's data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking globally using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you may opt out of Google's ad personalization at myadcenter.google.com.

Meta (Facebook), Inc.

The Meta Pixel is embedded on LabsFive.com to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and to build remarketing audiences of prior visitors and customers. It sets the _fbp and, if you arrived via a Facebook/Instagram ad, _fbc cookies described in Section 4. No health information is ever included in the data sent to Meta — only page views, checkout-funnel milestones, and purchase completion with the dollar amount charged. Meta's data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy. You may manage or opt out of Meta ad personalization at facebook.com/adpreferences, and opt out of interest-based advertising industry-wide at optout.aboutads.info.

No other third-party service has permission to set cookies on LabsFive.com. If you identify a third-party cookie not listed here, please report it to privacy@labsfive.com.

7. How to Control Cookies

You have full control over cookies on your device. Here are your options:

7.1 Browser Settings

Every major browser allows you to view, delete, and block cookies. Instructions for each:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Opera: Settings → Advanced → Privacy & Security → Site Settings → Cookies

Note: Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent core site features from functioning, including file upload and payment processing.

7.2 Opt Out of Google Analytics

Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This prevents Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits across all websites — not just LabsFive.

7.3 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a Do Not Track setting. LabsFive honors Do Not Track signals — when detected, we disable analytics cookie collection for that session.

7.4 Delete Existing Cookies

You can delete all existing cookies from LabsFive.com through your browser settings at any time. This will not delete any data we have already collected in aggregate analytics reports, but it will remove all cookies currently stored on your device from our domain.

9. Updates to This Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy when our cookie usage changes — when we add a new tool, remove an existing one, or when a third-party service we use modifies its cookie behavior.

Material changes — meaning the addition of any new cookie category, particularly any optional or third-party cookie — will be communicated by:

Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
Resetting cookie consent banners so existing users are asked to consent again before the new cookie is placed
Email notification to users who have transacted with us in the prior 90 days

We will never add a new cookie type silently. If a cookie is not on the list in Section 4, it is not on our site — and if we ever need to add one, you will know before it is placed.
